I have been reviewing the specs, pricing, and availability the current generation's graphics cards... to help me determine which card I'm going to replace my X850XT PE with... I have been searching the forum and reading around for info... I have compiled a chart below...

7800GTX - Released Jun 22 - Release MSRP $599 - MSRP lowered to $499 - Current street price $447
7800GT - Released Aug 11 - Release MSRP $449 - MSRP lowered to $??? - Current street price $280
X1800XT - Released Nov 7 - Release MSRP $549 - MSRP raised to $599 - Current street price $599
X1800XL - Released Oct 5 - Release MSRP $449 - Current street price $378

7800GTX512 - Released Nov 14 - Release MSRP $649 - Current street price $649 (out of stock)

This is just a quick chart I made for reference... if anyone sees ANY errors, would they please correct me ASAP :) For the street prices, I used Retail parts only (hence the MSRP)... I know you can get a few OEM parts cheaper some places... but I am refering to only retail parts with all accessories, full warranty, etc.

BTW, what has the 7800GT's MSRP been changed to... $349, $399??!

-Thanks

what's the point in having this? the 7800 series will have the better prices because they've been around longer.

Just because the street prices of the 7800 cards have gone down so much, doesn't mean their MSRP has changed.

EVGA lists the MSRP of their 7800GT as $449.99 Text

I believe the 7800GT was $280 at Monarch (without the rebate)... maybe it was just a Thanksgiving sale?

fierydemise,

The $530 deal at Excalibur is the 'lite' box version... and the $570 ASUS isn't very clear on OEM or what... but I do see now that the X1800XT can be had for less than my chart originally indicated. :)

Cooler,

The 7800GTX512 is listed at $649 here... it is still out of stock though. :frown:
