I notice input lag from Vsync. I honestly think that some people don't notice because they simply aren't that good at games.

I honestly think that some people say they notice input lag from VSync as a way of patting themselves on the back, projecting a mental image of themselves as some sort of hardcore gamer.

No, it's more like...when you switch you can feel the difference. When you just use vsync all the time you never know the difference.

It's more noticeable when you are familiar with a game's control and how it feels.

With adaptive vsunc framerate drops depending how fast you render so you go from 60 (assuming 60Hz) to 59 to 58 to 57 to 56 to 55 to 54 to 53 to 52 to 51 to 50 to 49 to 48 to 47 to 46 to 45 to 44 to 43 to 42 to 41 to 40 to 39 to 38 to 37 to 36 to 35 to 34 to 33 to 32 to 31 to 30 to 29 to 28 to 27 to 26 to 25 to 24 to 23 to 22 to 21 to 20 to 19 to 18 to 17 to 16 to 15 to 14 to 13 to 12 to 11 to 10 to 9 to 8 to 7 to 6 to 5 to 4 to 3 to 2 to 1. So...yeah 1fps is not really playable.

Terrible solution because it STILL HAS INPUT LAG!

Do I have to scream it? Any vsync...even adaptive has input lag and you can feel it when you are used to playing without it. Why? Oh it's simple because when you are at 60fps you have vsync enabled. Thus...same input lag as just throwing vsync to on.

So yeah going back to MagicCarpet's quote...no latency in the frames displayed but they never said anything about input lag which btw happens whenever vsync is on. So as I said in the sentence above, when you are at 60fps you have vsync on even with adaptive vsync and thus...input lag.

If you are looking for a fault you will always find one, and if there really isn't one our brain has the ability to create one for you.

I think you can do the same to convince yourself everything is great to :D

But there isn't improbable that you will notice input lag. Myself are one of the lucky ones that doesn't notice input lag or microstuttering.

same for me, even before I had a clear idea o what input lag was, I would always avoid vsync because I would turn it on and instantly recognize something was wrong, the delay was obvious.

I'm happier with tearing than higher latency.

It was more of a parody of you than suggesting adaptive vsync. You seemed to be hinting that 19FPS was fine but the drop down to 15FPS because of Vsync made things unplayable. I know that wasn't your intended message, but the context of your message was endorsing adaptive Vsync.

You better not be using AFR on your SLI setup.
