Both, but ATi won for me (happened to get a great deal, & I wanted the best i could get for my AGP-based mobo).

I had a 6800GT for a while, & now i have my X850XT PE.

I'm pretty sure that the 6-series will win here. There are a couple of people with 6800's of all flavors plus those with 6600GT's. With ATI, you pretty much the few people with either an XTPE or an XL, almost no one has anything below an X800 Pro (how many X600 posts do you see?).

From what I understand, ATI does have more overall marketshare, but I don't think that this forum is representative of that.

Edit: you did call it a stupid poll in the first post, so what am I going on about? :)

ATI lost this gen. They had nothing to compete with the 6600 series, the 6200 kicks the x300's ass, and the 6800GT/Ultra were out way before the XTPE's

I don't think ATI necessarily LOST the entire battle, because the X800XL really saved the day. That was the sh!t to get if you were debating between ATI and NV.

I gotta say mid range, the 6600GT really scored, but ATI had the high end covered quite well in their favor (well even more high end was SLI, which ATI couldn't capture).

I think it was a big surprise that ATI lost the crown from the 9700/9800 days, and so many fanboys or whatever think ATI totally blew it. However, I think that NV did win and they won very MARGINALLY (like election 2004).

Both. I bought 6800nu, 6800GT, 6800 Ultra, and X800XT PE. Currently have unlocked 6800nu and X800XT PE. Nvidia 6 series won the last round because it was more widely available. Looks almost certain Nvidia will win the current round also with the 7 series.

You cant really compare this strictly as the 6 series vs x series. I'm sure there were a bunch of people who got the 9x00 series as a budget midrange card, even when there were newer cards available. I doubt anyone bought the fx series, though, so when you campare the possible total amount of sales I cant say Nv won the round.

Upgraded from ATI 9500 Pro to a EVGA 6800NU-AGP. Bought the '6800' simply because the Low-price ($154 at Newegg), Otherwise I'd of Bought the X800XL
