I'm looking for a graphics card in the price range of a 560ti.

Benches look pretty good for it. I play mostly RTS and FPS games. ATI and Nvidia are very competitive when it comes to FPS, but from what I've seen Nvidia has the definite edge in RTS games.

Whats the best solution for $250 give or take $50

Closest AMD card is the 6950 1GB.. which is a bit faster.

The cheapest I can find was this.. for $240 not including $30 rebate.

EDIT: Please list the resolution of your monitor and system specs.

If you find a good deal for a 5870 go for that (in my opinion its cheaper and fast as the 560ti except if you want tesseletion performance then the 560ti has the edge), else 6950 1GB or 2GB if you find any.

6950 2gb referance design ~239$ after Mail in Rebate from newegg.
Then you unlock the extra shaders and effectivly turn it into a 6970.

The reference 6950 2GB is no longer available: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...eId=1&name=2GB.

The unlocking ship has sailed, at least as far as Newegg is concerned.

It looks like you can still get it at other vendors, but certainly not for $239: http://www.amazon.com/HIS-Eyefinity...YL92/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1305061805&sr=8-2

at the current moment I game at 1920x1080.

I dream of gaming across three monitors, but alas I don't have enough money for that

adding to the many 6950 suggestions, there are factory overclocked 6870s aswel, but an overclocked 560 should handily beat those though.

Just another option.

ideally they should all be the same size and height, otherwise it could be a bit awkward. where can you get 2 monitors for $200 and what size are they?

Depends on the monitor you are running now. Which monitor are you using at the moment.

Am I right in remembering that some of the highest clocked 6870's can match a stock 560?

I replaced a HD 6850 for the GTX 560Ti so I can't compare it to the HD 69xx.

All I can say is that the 560Ti is a little beast of a card. Runs quiet and it's got power enough for my 1920x1080 gaming needs...and more.

Love that card.

A little different direction, OP... for 1080P I would probably look at a Radeon 5850 for $80 less than a GTX560ti. Sure, it's slower, it probably offers some 75-85% as much performance, but it's also only about 65% the cost (Newegg pricing, after rebate). Overclock it and save some money.

Pretty much every card mentioned in this thread is a solid choice for 1080P.
