Nvidia 52.16 resetting coolbits hack ??

Running a Gainward 5900-non with 2.2ns memory.

For some reason, my memory o/c of 900MHz resets to 850MHz using coolbits and 52.16 drivers. Core o/c of 450Mhz does not reset. Auto Detect puts core at 460Mhz, memory at 960MHz; so I think my o/c shoud be cool.

Anyone experiencing this?? :frown:
 
Hmm... will give that a try.

Glad I took your advice and got a 5900 with the 2.2ns RAM by the way. Good bang for the buck. Basically an Ultra. I don't run over 1024 x 768, so the 128MB does fine...

from what I've read on newegg reviews- the EVGA's OC's pretty high!! Not a big name, but you're not paying for the name either.
 
I had an eVGA model and tried the auto-overclock once after installing coolbits. It didn't OC very much, so I didn't see any reason to run it OC'ed and just left it at default levels. It was still a great performer even at default. 🙂 Thanks for the info!

I have the Gainward 1200 Golden Sample; I'd have bought the eVGA if I had known it had the 2.2ns.

For those with the cash to throw, the Albatron 5900 Turbo has 256MB of the 2.2ns, essentially making it a 5900 Ultra for $365.00...
 
Ouch! I looked up some of the models listed here and they're going for near 256MB Ultra prices. :Q The Asus FX 5900 Ultra 256MB for $370 shipped at ZipZoomFly looks mighty attractive, though. 😀
 
Just wondering have you tried deleting the coolbits hack then remaking it? I had the same problem when I upgraded my drivers to the 45's awhile ago. When I re-did coolbits it worked fine after that.
 
Don't waste money on a card with more RAM than you need... by the time games need it, the card will be severely outdated by new hardware and it'll be useless anyway. It's not smart to plan for the future when things such as video cards have about a 6 month product cycle. Buy what will run your games now, worry about tomorrow's games tomorrow.
