Also bringing large performance gains to some games - notably ones that have notoriously performed worse on Nvidia than AMD equivalent products.

This could be a balance-tipping driver from a perf/$ perspective if some of the reported gains turn out to be true.

I was excited for this until I read the details. The low latency mode is just max pre-rendered frames with a new drop down box. That's been an option for a decade+ already. Dropping down to one frame currently is hit or miss but I do appreciate the option, more is better. The filter is exciting though. It's not a DLSS or AMD's sharpening thing (can't remember the name, fix this AMD marketing, nvidia's is burned into my head) it's an integer scaling option. Currently when a low res image is upscaled it's done linearly so it distorts. You see integer scalars all the time in emulators for 16-bit and older games. Though it appears to be both bound to turing and geforce experience the latter of which being an absolutely terrible idea.

The new option is '0'. In the past this was unsupported and BSOD'd at times. Now it's officially in the driver.

The filter is exciting though. It's not a DLSS or AMD's sharpening thing (can't remember the name, fix this AMD marketing, nvidia's is burned into my head) it's an integer scaling option.
There are two new upscalers, one integer (like Intel), the other sharpening like AMD.

Nope, only one "upscaler" - integer one.

Sharpening is just an updated Freestyle filter

First off it's UP TO 23% (technically 23.4%, in Apex Legends, on a 2080s, at 1080p).

Second, Nvidia is using a 2080ti in their own marketing graphs for this exact release. So.. again your "OMG Guru3d used a 2080ti but my chart doesn't show a 2080ti" cherry picking is lacking.

I am planning on putting 100s of hours in on Horizon 4 soon. 2060 Super showing almost 18 percent uplift at 1440 is unexpectedly good and welcomed.

The way things are going. Poor Steve over at Hardware Unboxed is never going to sleep again. He will have to redo all the benchmarks using the new drivers. It may change how the 2060 and 2070 supers stack up v. Navi for performance per dollar. Most of these titles are where they were getting spanked the hardest. If AMD finds a good amount of gas left in the tank for performance improvements via new drivers, RIP Steve.

What the heck is wrong with Nvidia's site, i can't download the 436.02 drivers right now. Keep getting a 404 - Not Found error on the last download page. Anyone else?

There was a bug with the drivers that auto Installed the geforce experience. Nvidia has taken down the drivers till the bug is worked out.

Do these new drivers only improve performance for the "Super" models, and not the regular plain-jane RTX cards, or both? (As I see the marketing graphs only reference the "Super" cards.)

Looking at possibly picking up an RTX 2060 for $300, or a RTX 2060 Super for $400 next month. (Unless another RTX 2070 pops up for $410 refurb, like a day ago.)

Second, your chart show's a 2080s. It seems you are either trying to ignore that both 2080s and 2080ti (23.4% vs 21% respectively) are TU102 or you simply didn't know. Either is unacceptable.

-A quick nitpick but unless I read that wrong the 2080S is a fully unlocked TU104 while the 2080ti is a cut down TU102.

Doesn't detract from your main point but that's that...

The integer scaling still looks blurry. When running 1080p on my 2160p monitor, the 4x4 pixels are definitely more "boxy" than filtered scaling, but the edges aren't sharp compared to a native 1080p monitor.

I hoped I'd be able to play Battlefield V at 1080p with integer scaling on my Predator X27 for higher framerates in multiplayer, but DLSS looks much better. It's not the higher pixel count because a native 1080p monitor still looks sharper than DLSS.

It could be using the Concurrent FP/INT Execution that Turing has and pascal doesn't. Most likely just a "business" decision though.

Credit where credit's due, this driver looks like it adds some good stuff and responds to competitors' features. Proof that competition works.

As an aside, almost one year after launch, not a peep about DLSS 2x. With this new sharpen filter working in DX9/DX11/DX12/Vulkan (better compatibility than AMD), it looks like DLSS is well and truly DOA .

You forgot a lot of stuff in the new additions that they added. I am not trying to point you out, just saying since you named the thread Nvidia driver 436.02 and made no claim for GeForce. Just going to add on things that were forgot bellow.

OP was accurate in stating additions added for GeForce Game Ready Drivers.
The following is what Nvidia added in their new Nvidia Driver 436.02 that was released on the same day for the QNF (Quadro New Feature) Driver. Sources:

Some new features that have been added are, two new control panel setting that were previously only available to GeForce users (Texture filtering- Quality and Texture Filtering- Negative LOD Bias).

Integer counting that was described by the OP has also been added in the new QNF driver.

The new QNF driver also exposes 3 OpenGL extensions. It also added the OpenGL extension "WGL_NV_multigpu_context".

I'm curious about this low latency thing. I'll play my ignorance card, but as I'm learning more about v-sync/g-sync/sync in general, I've found myself playing with the pre-render option.

Some games hitch. All manner of tinkering with syncs hasn't yielded a result. The hitching goes away if I disable v-sync, but I use G-sync for the purpose of not having tearing (i'd rather take a hitch than a tear, personal preference.)

This led me to the pre-rendered frame. I'm still not sure exactly how it works. My understanding is due to CPU traffic, frames rendered before hand are held as a safety mechanism in case the CPU misses a call. Thus you have an old frame of an other frame, or a hitch.

Setting it to 1 reduced the amount of hitches but didn't eliminate it. I guess long story short, I should try this update driver with the 0 option.
