Yes they do. Dang, I forgot to run the Sleeping Dogs benchmark before installing the drivers. Annisman, could you do that please, at a fixed clock maybe so we can better compare results?

These drivers exhibit the same issue from modded 314.09: high manual fan settings will downclock my cards. I get 1050ish mhz boost speed with 70% fan or higher when my normal boost speeds are 1345. Argh. What the F is this crap.

The AA in Sleeping Dogs is ordered grid Supersampling AA, not MSAA. MSAA is bandwidth intensive, OGSSAA is not so much because due to the quadrupled resolution it rather strains shader cores, TMUs and ROPs (fillrate).

They definitely didn't exaggerate about sleeping dogs performance gains. Pretty nifty, by my calculations that is right around the 14% advertised. Impressive.

OTOH, i'm still pretty miffed that high manual fan speeds are unusable now with 314.14 without throttling; Basically to get the highest clockspeeds now, your temps have to be higher? Doesn't make sense to me at all.

unfortunately, for many of us it's too little too late as we've already completed this game. Nonetheless, I'm still glad to see performance gains.

downloading these now to try and will post my results with sleeping dogs and a couple other benches including batman.

No real changes in Heaven, Valley, or 3dmark so I won't bother posting that but I did notice some changes in SLeeping Dogs and Batman: AC. Batman was odd in that with Physx enabled you get really poor GPU usage and the difference between 314.07 and 314.14 is zero. Without AA it's a decent gain (not huge though).

Uhhh what the heck. 😡 I am getting a 10% performance drop in Sleeping Dogs at 1080p and 1440p with AA on high or extreme. Performance also dropped with AA on low, though not by a noticeable amount.

gtx670 @ 1240mhz, 7000mhz vram.

Hi boxleitnerb
Isn't that essentially the same thing? Fillrate heavy = bandwidth heavy/intensive.

That is odd, are your clockspeeds/overclocking software affected at all with 314.14? I've noted perceptible smoothness increases all around in sleeping dogs even with lower AA settings.

These drivers seem to smooth out the problem with downclocking.

In general no, but maybe you're referring to sleeping dogs specifically - I never really had an issue. Not sure which you're referring to.

These drivers are 100% identical to 314.09 with regards to downclocking and throttling. It's even worse for 600 series since it doesn't allow you to use high manual fan, which used to be exclusive to Titan with 314.09 but now applies to all cards. Using 68% or higher downclocks your card substantially.

Long discussion in the Titan owner's thread about this. With all that said, basically you have to let your cards get higher temps now for max performance (that seems REALLY backwards...) but the performance increases with this driver are pretty impressive. I can definitely feel an improvement in sleeping dogs compared to 314.07, pretty sizable performance increase which is nice. Good to see their driver team keeps up with a wide array of current PC titles....So far nvidia have been doing 2 releases per month on a fairly steady basis so i'm very happy with their progress. I don't like the new manual fan downclock / throttle at all though, I hope that's a serious bug and not intended.

These drivers suck if they don't fix the clamp negative LOD bias not working. Dolphin has massive texture aliasing regardless of backend used.

nvidia and AMD suck, I wish they'd go out of business for making such sh**ty drivers.

Not according to afterburner. I ran a crapload of benchmarks at 1080p and 1440p and got lower frame rates all around the newer drivers in sleeping dogs. I did a clean driver install and, rebooted, and reran the benchmarks but still sucking. I dunno, maybe my vram overclock has suddenly failed on me. Hmmm. Need to test.

EDIT: Definitely not that. Running at stock vram speed (6000mhz) resulted in lower frame rates.

Blackend I owe you a beer. I updated to the latest afterburner, and that fixed everything. Performance went up from 51.5 fps @ 1440p high AA (the medium setting), to 55.1 fps.

Just curious what version were you using and which did you update to ,2.3.1 or 3.0b6 ?
