NVDA has fallen from around 70 at the beggining of the year to 16 today, and then they dropped this bombshell.

Wasn't there someone earlier that posted about being happy about picking up NVDA?
I was happy I picked up their stock. Of course I bought it the week of the IPO for under $20 a share and then sold it for over $80 a share after a 2-for-1 split, but that's just me. I guess I sold all my stocks just in time. Now I need to get some money back into my brokerage accounts to do some buying.

I'm not buying anything else until all these corruption scandals have blown over... i've lost enough money. 🙁

I donj't want to hear it. I boutgh a bunch of 3DFX for $7 a share, along with @home back when I had my cable through them. Screw you all.

That being said, I sold off a good chunk of my stock ownings in december. I needed the $$ to pay off all my loans and such. I sold HD for $51, Intel for 18 something ( I think ) and AMD for 16 or so. I am still ahead by a smidgen.

I own a bunch of the qubes 🙁 ( QQQ index )

time to sell when nv30 comes out?

nv30 doesn't fix the fact that computer sales have been slow for a while. and nv30 isn't the fat part of the market. yeah, a GFMX is cheap, but it sells really well and is cheap to make.

Let me get this straight. You put your life savings into NVDA and AMD?
Are you crazy? There are so many solid undervalued companies out there (non-tech) and you bought NVDA and AMD? Are you just too lazy to look for stocks aside from what's inside your computer?

Buying what you know isn't a bad strategy, but you also have to evaluate a stock separate from the products that the company makes. Just because a company has a superior product doesn't make their stock a good value. Or just because a company has a mundane product doesn't mean their stock isn't a good deal.

If you feel that NVIDIA will have higher sells and higher profits in the future, then hold on to the stock you just bought. The US markets have been violently adjusted to reality lately, so that things like profitability matter (again).

how much did you research them? Did you look at the balance sheet? Did you read the annual report at edgar.com? Did you look and see what the insiders are doing?
