NV40 Reference Card Photos

Doesn't look a whole lot different that current designs... with the exception of the two molex connectors and two DVI ports.

Expect this thing to have 5x the amount of capacitors and power regulation chips on it when the card actually gets shipped

I hope that PCI-E can provide enough power through the slot so we can go back to no molex connectors, but i think thats wishful thinking.

AGP provides ~65W, PEG 16x ~75W, so molex connectors will be with us for the forseeable future--provided you want continued performance increases.

I figured that but didnt know for sure, soon these things are gonna need their own PSU 😛

lol. lets hope it wont be another 5800 Ultra

I'm guessing it's gonna be nice and quiet since it seems they've done away with the dual slot design which leads me to believe it's cooling requirements aren't as great.

The only thing is red is ATI's colour and looks odd on an Nvidia reference card (not that Red doesnt look nice but just not Nvidia greenishhhhhhhhhh .....)

Are they going to have AGP and PCI Express variant just like ATI or will there be some kind of a bridge?

Wow, maybe I'm behind the times with my 9700 pro but why is it so long? Are the current cards (9800 XT/5950) that long? and 2 molex connectors... that's rediculous...

with the talk of DDR2 out and these video cards in works, is there talk of a pci express compatable mother board? mobo's seem to be behind the times, or mabye i just don't keep up with them enough. If there are any links you guys could direct me towards that would be great. Also, awsome picks, can't wait to see the size of the fan on that baby!

Many people thought one molex connector was rediculous... in fact, people thought fans on GPU's was rediculous at one point... hell... fans on CPU's was rediculous at one point...

the spelling on here is ridiculous 😛
nice pics, I think as someone said, once the final board comes out, there will only be one molex connector, the second one was just added for extra stability.

The 5900 is already a good deal longer than the 9700 pro. I believe even the ti4600 is quite a bit bigger than the 9700.
