Maybe my eyes are bad, but in that pic it sure does look like the card takes TWO slots.

From the picture below, it seems like NV35 card is still occupying 2 slots like the NV30 but the retail cards should only occupy a single slot.

That's what the VR-Zone text says...

that bracket takes two slots. i'm assuming the heat sink sticks into the second slot. if thats not a photoshop job

I was not referring to the pic....but the text

However, the writer didn't sound too sure when he wrote the retail would be unlike the sample and only take up one slot. I guess we'll know when we see Anand's article up in a few days 🙂

As for the benchmarks, it seems when the NV35 is using the drivers made for it, it gives quite the nice edge 🙂

well, what if I have 6 PCI and use a Gigabit Ethernet card, a SCSi card, a dialup modem, a Firewire card, a Capture card and a extra USB hookup?

Then oh well? If you want the graphics badly enough, you'd find a place to put the extra USB ports.

New mobos had Ethernet integrated, its almost a standard feature now. Also Most new cases have hookups for front USB headers. You can make room.

My case is an old standby modded to my liking so no getting rid...also I use gigabit ethernet NOT 100Base-T which most if not all Comsumer boards use.

Exactly. People with laptops won't be able to use it either. You made that choice when you built the SFF.

Agabooga, nVidia's not offering any real competition to the 9700/9700Pro @ ~$200-250, though GFFX5800 prices should drop quite a bit after the NV35 starts shipping I wouldn't expect it to drop that much. But, wait a month or so, and ATi might be announcing a new card to better combat NV35 ... expect 9700Pro prices to drop quite a bit as well. It should be easy to find an e-tailer selling the card at sub-$250

To whomever it was that was asking about AA speed on the NV35 vs NV30, yes it's going to be MUCH faster, due to having nearly double the memory bandwidth. Amazing what a 256-bit bus can do 😀
