NV30 2003? .15 Mic?

It's all vaporware (R300, NV30) until it's in my warm, healthy hands! I've heard rumors that R300 will be .13mu. Who knows!

*GTa <-- Posting from the paradise island of Naxos, Greece.

Doubtful. It appears that what is hampering NV30 to come to the market is the immaturity of UMC's and TSMC's .13um process, if they are going to be on .15um like ATi it sounds like is, then they would likely be out by the end of 2002.

Kyle things they are going to sample at .15 and then release at .13? WTH is he smoking? If they sample at .15 the chip will be released at .15. Period. His information is probably wrong, Nvidia gets priority process access at TSMC. I would believe the rumor that .13 won't be ready for mass production by end of the year, but not that the sampled at .15. That would mean they had to design it at .15.

I fail to see the humor in this Amish, and you of all people should be the last one laughing. We all already know that TSMCs .13m process is very immature.

I don't think nvidia has much to worry about anyway if it is delayed til 2003. ATI may get a faster part out first, but I am betting that the NV30 will even smoke ATI's offering. Parhelia won't even be a factor in the next few months

From the link above:::::
Officials at Nvidia did not return written requests for comment at press time. Would you give info to the press to to help knowk down stock prices??.

I bet they'll put out a part to appease the stockholders. Most likely it'll be a geforce4 without T&L thats named geforce5 MX 😀

gf 4 refresh, anyone?

seems like everyone is hurting about .13 except intel. amd, matrox, ati, now nvidia.

I definately see that as a possibility if this keeps up, Although, It is definately goona be tough on a .15um process, GF4 Refresh=AGP8x support?

Well, that's the current rumor from HardOCP.

LOL!!

amish

I seriously doubt that...from all of the info I've heard (VERY reliable sources), NV30 is .13 micron and WILL ship by end of year.

Prudential Securities downgrades Nvidia stock due to NV30 slipping to 2003 (speculation)

I said will ship BY the end of '02. Doesn't meant that there will be VOLUME shipments by the end of '02 though. The .13 micron stuff is bogus though.

So Nvidia is gonna make a rehash of the GF4 line. That sounds more typical of Nvidia than to release a faster refresh of the card vs. creating an immediate new card. But at least they are consistant with their cards and the cycles.

The GeForce4 was a rehash (though a good one) of the GeForce3 in my mind.

They will have another part coming out this year.
