Long live 2007! So this should give GTX 275 or even 285 (if it's not significantly underclocked) performance? But with still DX 10.zero, do we have any buyers? Anyone? Nah, didn't think so.

I mean, GTS 250 is the same core that was in the 9800GX2 (much lower clocked of course). So this is a 9800GX2 with 2x1GB instead of 2x512MB. Fabulous!

This one deserves the bashing it's bound to receive. Crazy...

I saw some weird EVGA GTX 275 that had a GTS 250 added onto the PCB as a Phyx processor. Something like GTX 275 Co-Op edition or something.

This thing. o_O

Edit:
I do miss certain partners making more than just non-reference coolers. I like the idea of top quality partners being able to come up with custom designs that you can't get from just anyone. Makes the GFX market less boring.

However I'd like to see actual top quality partners doing it, XFX, EVGA, ect. Though I think XFX and NV had a falling out IIRC. Galaxy is by no means top tier, then again IIRC they do more business in EU than here in the US. Or maybe that was Palit or something. Oh well.

nV is getting pathetic. Can't even find stock of their high end 295, 285 etc and now releasing a card which gets beat by 5850... This better be $180 for it's lack of features and overhead.

Why arnt 295's for $400 out there? Or 285's for $220? That's where price/performance puts them so it must be just too damn expensive to make them.

Seems like a strage card for the current time. Are Nvidia AIB's running out of cards to build until Fermi arrives?

Bored engineers maybe, wanting to pass the time.

Every now and then you do get weird/unusual cards though, but many don't make it to market/mass production.

More trash release. For $370 and get raped by a $260 card. Like I said where are the 295's or even 285's..actual competitive product.

Galaxy, Galaxy, Galaxy...

Maybe this would've been a good idea 1-2 years ago, but today...? I don't think so.

Why do people make diesel powered sports cars that are extremely cost ineffective? BEcause they can, like Galaxy :) SOmetimes you don't need a good reason to do something, only the desire to do it and the money to burn :)

Dual GPU X1600 anyone? Now that was a card that wreaked of fail from the start even when it was in the age of the X1xxx series.

The card is still capable of playing most games at decent settings. Most games today scale well with dual GPUs. I'm betting that galaxy was able to get a buch of chips for low cost and they can easily price this thing to be price/performance competetive and make a profit.

We can expect up to 4850X2 performance, but I suspect it'll be underclocked so not quite. Yeah, it's solid GTX 275 or higher performance but it's high power and comes out a time when DX11 cards are out or out soon. If they can somehow price it under $200 it might get some buyers. Otherwise get a 4890 or wait for 5850/5830 to drop price.

2x 8800GT... nice! :D

Wait, it's 2010...

So galaxy is using 112 CUDA core GPUs instead of 128 CUDA core G92s?

How expensive does anyone think it is to make these single PCB dual GPU cards?

Maybe this is a way of clearing out some leftover chips (before it is too late) now that ATI is selling so well at 40nm?

What is Galaxy thinking!?!

Maybe Galaxy got a deal on 55nm G92 GPUs? These are 55nm right?

Too bad 2 GB of physical VRAM has to be used in order to effectively get 1 actual GB (due to mirroring effect). That kinda wrecks the cost efficiency of such a card (depending on how expensive GDDR3 is these days)

No, these use 128 Cuda cores and are made on the new low power design chips.
It also has 0.8ns ram that can run at 2600. Not bad because normal gts 250's use 2000 speed ram.
It uses 2 pci-e power connectors for power.
They should overclock well, my 9800gtx+ 1gb 55nm (same as gts 250) hit over 800 core easily.
Also should be a folding monster with 256 cuda cores.
No sli connectors ,so not quad capable.

Got most of this info on google.

Will I buy one ...NO!

I don't understand. I just bought a 295 a couple weeks ago. They're available lots of places. Just not for $400. Prices are rising.
