Seems like a strage card for the current time. Are Nvidia AIB's running out of cards to build until Fermi arrives?
I saw some weird EVGA GTX 275 that had a GTS 250 added onto the PCB as a Phyx processor. Something like GTX 275 Co-Op edition or something.

This thing.
Edit:
I do miss certain partners making more than just non-reference coolers. I like the idea of top quality partners being able to come up with custom designs that you can't get from just anyone. Makes the GFX market less boring.
However I'd like to see actual top quality partners doing it, XFX, EVGA, ect. Though I think XFX and NV had a falling out IIRC. Galaxy is by no means top tier, then again IIRC they do more business in EU than here in the US. Or maybe that was Palit or something. Oh well.
Bored engineers maybe, wanting to pass the time.
Every now and then you do get weird/unusual cards though, but many don't make it to market/mass production.
2x 8800GT... nice!
Wait, it's 2010...
What is Galaxy thinking!?!
So galaxy is using 112 CUDA core GPUs instead of 128 CUDA core G92s?
How expensive does anyone think it is to make these single PCB dual GPU cards?
Maybe this is a way of clearing out some leftover chips (before it is too late) now that ATI is selling so well at 40nm?
Maybe Galaxy got a deal on 55nm G92 GPUs? These are 55nm right?
Too bad 2 GB of physical VRAM has to be used in order to effectively get 1 actual GB (due to mirroring effect). That kinda wrecks the cost efficiency of such a card (depending on how expensive GDDR3 is these days)
nV is getting pathetic. Can't even find stock of their high end 295, 285 etc and now releasing a card which gets beat by 5850... This better be $180 for it's lack of features and overhead.
Why arnt 295's for $400 out there? Or 285's for $220? That's where price/performance puts them so it must be just too damn expensive to make them.
