NV Firewall any good?

I'm using NV Firewall, which came with my ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe. Is this a good firewall to use? If not, any suggestions for an alternative? My OS is Win XP SP2.

Thanks,
J. J.

Yes, it is good. It is built into the chipset and probably uses the least CPU cycles of any firewall short of a hardware one that sits between you and the cable modem.

Has something changed regarding it? I thought I had heard it was plagued with problems. I've not installed it on the last three systems I've built because of bad things I thought I had read about it.

Maybe I'm thinking of something else?

Not arguing here, just asking.

I have been using the one that came with the latest nforce4 drivers on my nforce3 without problems.

When I ran it on my previous Epox NF3 board and my newer DFI NF3 board. I had much worse latency and horrible throughput. I just use the NAT on my WRT54G it does a pretty good job at port filtering/forwarding IMO.
