I grabbed the NVIDIA Dawn demo & the OpenGL wrapper, installed everything as it should be, but when I try to run the Dawn demo it crashes immediately. I have a 9700 Pro, 1.33 GHz T-bird, 512MB RAM, WinXP Pro.

Has anyone else had problems getting this to run?

I have a 9700Pro too in a P4@1400 and 640Mb-ram in WinXP pro and no problem.
I've running it with 4xFSAA and 8xAF. Try to install it again

So far anyone I've seen with this issue has been running an athlon thunderbird. Me included. I think it's because of sse instructions that the thunderbirds don't use.

Yeah, I'm using CAT 3.4, which so far I've had no problems with.

So is this a T-bird issue then? Is there anyone here with a T-bird who got this demo to work?

I keep getting "This program requires an NVIDIA GeForceFX-class GPU or better to run. Unsupported features: ARB_multisample"

Does this work on a R8500? Or only on R9500 and above cards? I have a Tbird 1.4/8500 system that I could try it on. My main system is a P4 3.02/9700.

You must have an R3xx or RV3xx based card for this to work, because it has to have DX9 capability (even though this demo runs in OpenGL....)

BTW, I'm still unable to get the Dawn demo to run. It always crashes immediately after it's opened. Is there anyone with a T-bird system that has made this work?

Um, no, it uses an 8500 card, not an r8500. The fastest released ATI chip (the 9800 card uses it) is the r350.

Not to sound stupid, but have you installed the OpenGL wrapper?? I believe if you don't install the wrapper, you'll get the error message you mentioned.

I put the opengl32.dll file in the \bin directory of the Dawn demo folder, as per the instructions on Rage3d's site. As far as I know there was nothing else needed.

Yes, nothing else is needed, it should work. Perhaps it really is a Tbird issue.

It is correct the demo will not run on a thunderbird system, The demo requires SSE instructions, and the thunderbird does not have them.

From Rage3d here is what I gather are the requirements
Windows XP
Cat 3.4 and a Athlon XP or Pentium 4
