NV 6800 ULTRA Dual DVI Questions

Question regarding the dual DVI ouputs on the 6800 Ultra cards. What kind of TMDS chip drives the DVI ouputs?

1) Both DVI ports driven by on-chip TMDS (on-chip means on the NV40 chip);

2) One DVI port is driven by an on-chip TMDS the other one by an external TMDS (ie. Silicon Image)

3) Both DVI ports are driven by external TMDS chips (ie. Silicon Image)

I'm curious as to which is true, especially pretaining the BFG Tech 6800 Ultra OC, but I assume all 6800 Ultra cards follow pretty much reference designs hence the general question.

I'm almost positive it's option #2.

#2 or #3, depending on the card (the chipset has one TMDS transmitter onboard, but some Dual-DVI workstation cards use two external ones because the NVIDIA one is, to put it nicely, less than stellar). Check out the DVI compliance review THG did a week or two back.

Ok, so assuming it's #2, which DVI port on my BFG ultra is the one with higher quality? Lefty or righty?

So which one is?
Who knows, the DVI port nearest the external transmitter is probably the one driven by the external chip.
