Question Numbered file rename - Anyone know other similar tricks?

I found this out by accident. Suppose you have n files in a folder. For whatever reason, they all have different names (maybe photos) and you just want them to be numbered from 1 to n. Select all files, while selected, right-click on the first filename and rename. Type whatever you want and then at the end, put "(1)" without the quotes. You will get the following:

Is this trick documented somewhere? What other possibilities are there for renaming?

You misunderstood me. I meant, is there anything else like enclosing a number in brackets that we can do in Windows Explorer, without using any other tool? Just using the UI. My point was that maybe there's a whole slew of such tricks in some KB article or whatever.
