Number of times viewed

I was wondering if this was an option with Fusetalk 4.0?....so it tells you how many people have looked at a thread up the top or something when you got into a thread?

2nd item....any chance it might be done? 🙂

In the thread referenced by minendo AndyHui says "While the feature is included in FuseTalk, with the sheer amount of traffic that these forums get, the load would be too great. We tried it before and it brought the forums to a crawl. "

FatWallet has approximately the same number of members and traffic (at least at the moment 117885 w/366 online for AT and 114105 w/410 online for FW.) They have page views and aren't at a crawl. What makes it work there but not here?

iirc there are far more viewers that aren't registered and online here than there is at FW. I could be wrong though. But I remember when Zuni implemented it in - good god that was slower than hell

edit: just went to FW - says theres about 1700 people lurking. I'm sure Zuni could put up the stats for AT. I don't know if it makes a difference or not though, but FW is only using FT 2.1, whereas we're using 4.0

I forgot about the lurkers. Maybe that's it. I would hate to think that it was a feature that worked well in 2.1 but doesn't work at all in 4.0.

I think it'd be annoying anyways... there's some threads that would easily have 50,000 views and there'd be an added column that would be spread all the way down through the page just because of that... and it'd suck.
