What do advertisers have to do with it? They can still print anything they want. The question wasn't about how much it would cost them in potential lost advertising revenue. The question was about whether or not it was allowed.
Do you really think anandtech cracks down on nudity so hard here because it really wants to be the premier "family" computer site? I doubt it.
Advertisors, when they buy space, slots, or pages, have certain conditions that go along with the ordering of the advertisement. For many, that means that nowhere in the publication is nudity or other adult material supposed to be present.
Of course, a magazine can say hey, we regularly have non-erotic nudity in this magazine-and the advertisors might decline to run their ads in the magazine-but thats not the point Im making. The point is that many advertisors are absolutly terrified of being associated with anything sexual. (Standards dont always apply solely to sexual content, but I would wager that that is the case most of the time).
