NU-Tech 082 Burning DVD's but not CD's???

Yah what a pain this drive is for me. Got it because of the great review from AT. First one I got didn't read CD's so I returned it for another. This one I have now has been working great, until right now when I tried to burn my first CD. Doesn't F*in work! Stops before it even starts burning. Burns DVD's great, backed up 80 gigs of files the past week on DVD's. Reads CD's too.

Am I doing something wrong? I doubt it, but I'm open to suggestions. Otherwise this thing is going back, and you know I'll probably try it again, but the next one I get will either work or will be dropped from a very tall building.

Yes I did update to the latest firmware.
 
Hey man,

Someone emailed me a couple days ago with thesame problem. Is your drive alone on its own bus? That seemed to be the previous culprit.

Hmm, how can the drive being alone in its own IDE channel cause such a problem?

Anyway, what exactly happens when you try to burn a CD? What software are you using? If you're using Nero Burning ROM, you do know that there's a pull down menu to choose between DVD and CD burning right?
