Ntune??

Well, I'm considering OC'ing my GPU (6600GT) and I stumbled across Ntune - which semms like it will OC my chip and memory, too - automatically.

Seems a little too good to be true - I'm comfortable sticking to Zebo's guide for OC'ing my CPU, but I wouldn't know where to begin with my GPU. Ideas?

OC the card using nvidia software, riva tuner or ati tool I don't which what is good and what is not. Not sure.

But ati tool lets you scan for artifacts and find the max mem and all speed. Try that.

It seems to be limited to 250HTT which aint much of crap unless you have some higher multiplier chips....Use clockgen if you need to do ocing in the windows environment..If you have a working bios it is better to do there once you found out what is stable...

i have to admit I like just freeznig the computer if I take it too far versus clearng cmos and the battery all the time...

Edit: I didn't read well....I assumed he meant system ocing with Ntune whioch you can do as well with an Nvidia chipset mobo...

I've never used ntune. I use coolbits registry file to open overcloking options in the nvidia driver. Then I use auto detect... crank it up a bit more manually..test. Then I run some 3dmarks just to be sure.

Nothing really complicated. There are some complicated tools out there like Riva Tuner or Ati Tool which even let you tweak mem timings on the card but I got better things to do with my time that shoot for 1-2%.

Who says you need to clean the cmos. Just do minor to at most moderate increments, and mostly(all time for my till now, though I am new), the system just reboots or shows a BSOD and reboots and you can again change the BIOS settings.
