I need to run my hard drive on another computer to fix the via problems with win2k. When I switch hard drives I get a "NTldr missing press any key to restart."

But when I put it back in my other computer, it works fine.

HELP!!

Does your installation on the other computer consist of another hard drive? If so it could be that the other drive is your primary and has the boot loader on that drive. That might be why it works when you plug it back in. I would pull both drives.

Take the floppy out of your floppy drive 🙂

I've seen that error message before when I've had a non system disk in the floppy drive.

But in your normal system, was the hard drive the only one? If it's the second, that's why you're missing thr NT loader. If not, different motherboards can use slightly different drive geometries. Try the option in the BIOS to reset config data, then try the Win2K CD to repair the boot sector if that doesn't work.

i got that message earlier tonite on an old p2 system because i forgot to take the disk out after loading some drivers after a reinstall. i think it means the proper drive isnt being booted.
