NTLDR is missing

I moved a hard drive with Win Xp on it, from a Standard IDE (ata/66) channel, to a "Promise" controller (ata/100) channel.

When I try to start the PC I get the "NTLDR is missing" message.

I have floppy with "boot.ini", "ntldr", and "ntdetect" on it, and when I leave it in the drive, it starts the PC.

So.............how do I get the PC to boot off of the Hard Drive, and not have to use the floppy?

Looks like you didnt install the drivers for the promise controller, and win2k cant see your drive. So what you do is put the drive back on the ide controller and install
the promise drivers. Shut down and then put the drive on the ata100 controller. that should solve youre problem.

let me know if this helps

change your boot.ini file on your harddrive to point to where your WINXP installation is. right now it seems that win2k is trying to boot to your old harddrive controller. you are now it NT land...
