NTFS permissions, with XP

Ok here is the deal. I messed with my permissions too much and deleted a user i should have not deleted. when i try to boot, i get 0x0000022 error, i know what i need to do, but im just unsure how i can get into safe mode and correct my user problem. Any suggestions?

Do you mean Safe Mode doesn't work, or you need to get into Safe Mode? To get into Safe Mode, tap F8 while it is booting. If that doesn't work, you can try booting from your WinXP CD and go to the Recovery Console. From here you might be able to add the user again.

Nope, cant getinto safe mode either, i have no access to the drive at all, when i go into the xp console, it askes me for a password, should i know what this password is? But if i could just get into safe mode i am set. , i need a boot disk or somphin, any thing

The password it is asking for is the administrator password that was used when XP was installed.

A possible work around is to hook up the HDD to another computer as a slave with XP and set permissions on the file to give everyone read access, though you may have to give full control depending on which file is now blocked. That should fix the security issue.

If you do that, and have multiple users you will need to redo all your security provisions.
