NTFS or FAT32

I currently have a multiboot system: Win98se, Win2k, and winME, all on one drive in 3 seperate partitions. I was wondering if this is even possible and if so worth the extra effort and possible problems. I'd be using partition magic 6.0

I would say leave it in FAT32 if you want to access the files in the WINNT partition while you are in 98 or other operating systems.

NTFS is a bit faster and better, but you can't read NTFS with Win98 or ME

ntfs is supposed to be less prone to file damages in cases where you turn off the system suddenly. however ntfs is supposed to have more overhead, and also larger cluster size so a less efficient way of using space (which is so cheap nowadays anyway). correct me if i am wrong! 🙂

is there anyway to convert from FAT32 to NTFS without having to reload Win 2k?

You can use partion magic 5.01 or later to convert fat32 to NTFS (which is more reliable then fat32).
There mey be the same method as NT4, which PQ magic used to conver fat16 to NTFS, under w2k; but I haven't needed to know to I haven't leaned...

Just go to help on the start menu and then search help for &quot;converting to NTFS&quot; there you'll find the answer.
