USB adapters can occasionally be installed, but actually getting USB devices to work is almost impossible. A very few devices are reputed to work under NT4, but generally speaking, the hassle isn't worth it.
The reason I ask is that I have a company supplied laptop (Dell Latitude) but they are installed with NT4 for security purposes.
We are migrating to Win 2000 later this year so I guess I'll just have to put up with downloading my Canon S10 "snaps" by the serial port till then and not having the option of using my Ezonics web cam either
Out of the box, NT4 has zero support for USB. There are third-party drivers that cost more than you might imagine that enable USB functionality. It was cheaper to buy Win2k...
All you need is SP6a and a company willing to put out USB drivers for NT. Epson is a company that has put out good NT USB drivers for their scanners and work very well. SP6a includes limited USB support, but it's there. MS really doesn't talk about it too much, but you can imagine why.
