I've migrated my server from the Dualeron/W2k setup to a K6-2 333/NT4 Server setup. I have almost everything back in shape now, but I cannot locate the Scheduler application I used in Win2k. I know how to use the AT command and could make a batchfile to run once a day, but seems to me there is a GUI version somewhere. Any help would be most appreciated.

Cool, I might be able to help with this one.
I had to ask the same thing recently.

Just look under My Computer on the desktop, there should be a Program in there called Scheduled Tasks.
Pretty much self explanitory after that. Just remember to click on the Advanced button to set up the task to run more than once a day, like every half hour.:)

Just look for the 'at command' help in NT4 help. The command line interface isn't too bad. Otherwise, there's a GUI called WinAT that's included in the NT4 Resource Kit.

LMK if you want a copy, I can zip it up and mail it.

The site is in my sig down below. You should be able to get into everything except the bbs. I need to get my hands on IIS4 to get the bbs up. The bbs and IIS2 don't see eye to eye. :(

If you are still having probs, e-mail me at jator@cfl.rr.com or contact me through ICQ.

You guys have it pretty close, Jay you need to get the extra web tools found on the SP4 disk, then you can upgrade to IE5+
These tools also give you; the quick launch bar, activedesktop, and lot's of other win98ish tools.

Hey office boy, isn't it a granted truth at everyone has SP5/6 installed so that it really isn't an issue? :)

Becuase I am selling my Dualeron to LD to go to the GameBox. Thus I am forced to use either a K6-2 333 (oc300) or a PII 300. Both are considered the minimum for real world performance under Wijn2k (even with 196 Memory), whereas NT 4 Server will run fine under this condition, and I am preparing for my MCSE, so I need the practice.

Postman, but on the SP4 disk, there is the IE4 with sp1, that has all the extra webstuff that gives you things like active desktop, and quicklaunch. If you skip that, you don't get a lot of stuff.

SP6+IE5 gives you the same abilities regarding task scheduler, so.. Can't really be bothered with active desktop and launch bar since they just eat resources and potentially add instability :)

Jay

I put WINAT.ZIP up on your FTP site. Sorry it took me so long, I got your e-mail at home and had to get the file from work.

Was there anything else you needed?
