Okay here's the deal, I want to show my father Band Of Brothers but he doesn't approve of quite a bit of language in the movie, I know it's odd he's cool with the violence just not the cussing. Anyhow I've seen some devices retail at 70.00, do you guys have any recommendations on cheaper ways to filter dvd's, as their tv and home dvd player does not have any filter options.

Not really. My father was the same way... and he fought in WWII. Much of that generation was very sensitive about cussing.

You know, as ass-backwards as it seems, people that fought in wars are normal people. Just because he did what he had to do to defend his country doesn't mean that behavior is imprinted upon him for the rest of his life. So because he fought in a war means he has to be ok with killing a man, profanity, etc?

I know of no "problem bullets."

Anyhow, yes, he had lots of problems with the violence of war, and suffered for years after the war because of it. His actions in the war, though a threat to his humanity, did not change his morality or ethics. To him, cussing was wrong, disgusting, and a sign of a weak mind. I may not have totally agreed with him, but I firmly believe that he earned his right to be respected for his views.

My uncle came back a different man from vietnam. He may have went there normal, but he sure as hell didn't return like that.

Anyhoo I respect my Dad and his beliefs, if anyone has anything productive to contribute I would appreciate it.

As did my father but he was a Sailor so cursing doesn't phase him one bit (hell he taught me all the good words and phrases)
