NT 4 Server Continues to beep while running

I have a NT4 server box and while it is running, the PC speaker keeps beeping. I feel like I am in hospital and the beep... beep... beep... is getting to me.

The log tells me nothing and I cannot mute it through the volume control since I don't have any audio devices installed.

Can anyone tell what is going on?

Perhaps you have a RAID controller and array and the array is 'critical' due to a drive failure? Some controllers/managers beep to alert you.

Unfortunately it is running vanilla on the IDE motherboard controller. The server is only used to run Arcserve backup jobs.

I was going to say taking out the internal speaker. Check your motherboard manual for what causes beeps. Test and eliminate until you find your answer.

-Check the bios setting for the system over-temp warning... perhaps it's set too low, or your CPU fan took a dive.
-Did anyone install any UPS software? Perhaps it is warning you the UPS is not correctly attached.
-This beeping is it steady and ALWAYS on? or on and off throughout the day?
-Under the hardware devices is anything disabled? or disabled in the Bios? perhaps a serial port?

Good Luck
