Hi, hope you can help.

I'm upgrading some systems for my dads tax firm (probably CUVX mobo/celeron 700s to keep it cheap).

One of the boxes is running NT 4 (just a file server - currently a P166). Is it possible I can get away somehow with just swaping in the new hardware (mobo/cpu) and not have to re-install NT??

Probably not..but I'm hoping to speed this process up

Any help is appreciated, as I've been away from NT4 for too long now.

Sure appreciate any tips or help,

Thanks guys,
joed

Since nobody posted suggestions...

It would not hurt to try to:
1) swap the components
2) boot in safe mode
3) uninstall drivers of removed components.
4) reboot and see if it works. If it does, install new drivers.

You probably will need to reinstall, as the chipset on the CUV4X is completely different to any Pentium class chipset. You might be able to get away with it if the motherboard had an Intel chipset (assuming that the existing system had an Intel Chipset on the motherboard).

Most likely to will receive an "inaccessible boot device" message on first boot.
