NSFW. photogropher captures a tank shell hitting Syrian rebels

Photos 2,3,4 look shopped. It seems like they were merging different pictures together. Then again, I have very little expertise on how a shell tank looks like on impact. But it wouldnt be the first case of fraudulent photo journalism.

Are you a truther?

And the lesson is....

When a tank is coming...
and all you have is a pistol, a rifle, and a machine gun......
take cover!

wow thats crazy. Was expecting more gruesome but this was just as bad. That shot where the red comes in before the big blast is crazy.

It has been confirmed that the photographer was filming the situation with her DSLR and pulled these stills from the video of the situation. That is probably why it looks a bit "merged" or however you would describe it.

That was the first thing that went through my mind when I saw picture #2. A tank is spotted and you grab a rifle? WTF is a rifle going to do against a tank? The first rule of warfare should be to understand the relative strengths of their weapons/defenses versus your weapons/defenses. Rifle vs tank is mechanical Darwinism.

Tanks are usually followed by infantry that's why. No one dumb enough sends a tank in without infantry support so yeah...............

That's crazy. It definitely is a gruesome reminder that we are well off in North America. We may have things our governments do we don't agree with, but it's silliness compared to what's going on the other side of the world.

The guy in the middle clearly has a rocket-launcher on his shoulder. I expect they were planning to use that against the tank.

You know how I know how you've never been in the military.

Basic tenet in the Rifleman's Creed:

"My rifle, without me, is useless. Without my rifle, I am useless."

And if you look at he captions, it was seconds BEFORE the explosion. They were reacting to the fact there was an intruder.

I saw that too, I don't know if it would have been strong enough to penetrate a tank's armor, specially the frontal sections of a tank which are the most heavily armored parts..

Don't need to destroy it. Just immobilize it or get it stuck somewhere so that it can't move forward.
