So why is this any worse than boys playing violent video games? Is pretending to be show girls really worse than pretending to kill people?

Well there is the whole aspect that video games are virtual and these girls were paraded in front of a crowd/television audience.

I imagine if there was a show that just showed 8 y/o boys playing GTA and constantly beating hookers people would be just as mad.

It's more a matter of societal consistency. We don't want people to think of our young children in a sexual way, yet we find amusement in activities with distinct sexual overtones for our children to participate in. We can think a woman in the same outfit, doing the same dance as those children is arousing, yet see the children as merely cute. We can say that it is shocking for someone to find the children arousing, and odd to merely find the woman cute. All the while the only salient connection between the woman and the children is the very thing that is making the woman so attractive, that being the clothing designed to display as much bare skin as possible and the sexually suggestive dance moves. Our failure to see that this assessment is inconsistent with our societal values is puzzling to me.
