NSA leaker has come forward: Idiot has fled the U.S

Lol you even suck at your own totalitarianism.

What good would it do anyone to silently eliminate someone who's already run his course?

If this guy doesn't receive overwhelming American citizen support, no one ever will. Too bad he waited before leaking this information. He would have made a far greater impact than imaginable.

"A lot of people in 2008 voted for Obama. I did not vote for him. I voted for a third party. But I believed in Obama's promises. I was going to disclose it [but waited because of his election]. He continued with the policies of his predecessor."

Q: What is your reaction to Obama denouncing the leaks on Friday while welcoming a debate on the balance between security and openness?

A: "My immediate reaction was he was having difficulty in defending it himself. He was trying to defend the unjustifiable and he knew it."

Sums it up pretty well.

Yeah, my thought as well.

Fleeing the US means he's open to being hit by a drone. That's already been established for American threats to the US of A existing outside of the USA.

No drone strike. No ignoring the 4th. He doesn't qualify as an imminent threat; can't 'drone' him unless he does.

What should be done with him then?

I'd prefer a state national guard unit be assigned to protect him, from you and other domestic enemies. Unfortunately the states serve their master well, and no one will step up to stand for civil liberties.

So a guy with intimate knowledge of our national intelligence apparatus has fled to China. The guys at the MSS are probably doing back flips right now.

I think it's pretty ironic that an American who tries to defend fellow Americans flees to China for political asylum.

Wouldn't have expected that kind of reversal of roles.

A true American there. He loves his country and his freedom more than his life.
So young but so wise and brave. Too bad so many so-called Americans whom we entrust with political power are too blind to see the basic truth that we Americans hold dear: Live free or die!

Seems like he was a low level tech. Likely had only limited access to data, which is why his info to the guardian is likely distorted. A wanaby spy, with some mental issues.

Do low level techs get salaries of $200.000 at then NSA? Wow. Where do I send my application?

He went to the second strongest to protect him from the strongest. You know we're dying to prosecute him.

Personally I want to know as much as possible about what's going on, and this didn't surprise me that much; it's in the current Patriot Act.

The standard usually is that we give up our rights relevant to the threat. But the threat always ended with the war or whatever.

What do we do in a seemingly unending war on terror? Every time there's a major attack do we give up a few more.? It seems like a very slippery slope.

If the surveillance is Legal, like the government claims...

That man is perfectly safe from immediate harm. The cat's already out of the bag. An untimely death now would have about the same effect as tossing gasoline on the fire - confirming in blood that the US government is not only lying and corrupt, but also uncaring that the world knows it.

I expect they'll do their best to minimize whatever he does &says, while quietly working to publicly discredit him. Not to mention researching every keystroke and moment of his tenure to ascertain what he may/may not know.

They'll chuck him in prison later; once the legal/extraditon dance is done.
