I'm fairly sure there are websites where you could have purchased the indigenous microbes to India so that the tap water would have been safe. Essentially you could have gotten the food poisoning and other illnesses out of the way while you were in the comfort of your own home before going to India. Then you wouldn't have to live in constant fear of getting sick.

Highly unlikely. The average ATOTer can't even stomach Taco Bell. I would imagine everything in India gives them IBS.

Now we know why he went...

Best of Luck. If you want to eat local food make sure its in a reputable restaurant. Avoid roadside vendors. And when you order food, ask the waiter to keep spices less.
I recommend you eat the following food- Batatavada, Vada Pav,(Mumbai's speciality) Masala Dosa and Idlis(South Indian dishes-try to have them at an authentic South Indian place; i recommend "Sarvana Bhavan", excellent food, they actually bring their staff from south India, they have branches all over the world so you won't need to worry about hygiene. I ate at their New Delhi branch, awesome)

If you wanna catch a bollywood movie, watch Ek Villain. It came out last week, nice movie and does not have the nonsense that stereotypical bollywood movies have. Nice music too. Although it will in Hindi, but you will enjoy nevertheless.

Don't give any money to beggars avoid them like plague! This is very important. If you have blonde hair and wanna avoid being stared at all the time consider dyeing them black.

Any more questions call me. My number is 9651428134. If calling from out of UP prefix a 0.

thanks, this is not my first trip to Mumbai though. I'm pretty good on the basics - I'll check out EK Villain, been looking to see a Bollywood movie and evidently Dhoom was a bust.

Since the slums are out, I'll be checking out lonavala or khandala this weekend.

Anywhere where I can some some Hyderabad style biryani?

The tour operators we called are not operating slum tours during this time, it is evidently off season.

Why the hell would you go to a slum? 😵

Anyways good luck. And if you feel like it, check out Marine Drive.

already hit up marine drive/colaba/gateway to india/etc last time, but I'll probably spend Sunday around Colaba again just to walk around

Are there any stray dogs in India. In Thailand they are everywhere.

Are you scared?

they're mostly harmless. If you wanna ward them off, bend down and act as if you're picking up a pebble from the ground(you don't actually have to pick anything up, just pretend). They'll run away.

Lol... That's exactly what they told me in Thailand. Still, I don't like having those mutts around my feet. Never know when a dog might get spooked and go for my ankle.

Also, at night they go from being docile to aggressive. I wish the people who run the food stands would stop feeding them.

yeah man, stray dogs are everywhere. I actually enjoy their reasoning - because rounding up stray dogs and killing them is fucked up.

Why would I be scared? 😕
