I used pre-release drivers that apparently have been improved upon, but nonetheless I like the GTX295 of course.

It brings a whole lot of performance and features to the table, launched at $499, drove the MSRP of the second fastest single slot card down to $450, good news for everyone today.
 
You have quite an awful lot of charts strung together, I'm using a school computer which runs on a P4 and like 1gb of ram and this thing literally froze for about 3 minutes as I tried to close these obelisk sized pages. I'll check the info out when I get home. Maybe think about weak computers like this one and spread out the info you have?

I'm showing people the performance I get on these games with my rig that they can presumably expect if they have a similar rig to me.

I don 't have to do comparisons to anything because a. I'm not trying to prove it's better than anything, only illustrate performance b. it's not my "job" like it is yours.

How about micro stuttering? Ive used a 9800GX2 before, and compared to the GTX280, the former felt sluggish even with an higher avg fps compared to the latter.
 
Any chance we'll get a more text-based version? I've looked at the charts though, nice framerates with that beast of a card. How loud is your stock cooler design?

Microstutter is a fact of life with multiGPU when the framerates get low, and this card is no exception.

On the bright side, when you start out with a cross between a GTX 260 and a GTX280Sli, low framerates are minimized.
 
Nice job. Can you guys post the FRAPS graphs that show the interval between frames? IIRC, the spreadsheet should be called "frametimes".
 
Yeah, that GTX 295 looks like a real strong piece of work. That's what competition is all about. Awesome charts and benches. Way too much to read this evening.

Looks like we finally have the card that makes Crysis behave itself!

I tested it at the setting I play Crysis at, I think higher framerates are preferable in shooters.

I don't think I had frametimes checked when I did this, but I'd be happy to test a game or two again and post the frametimes if you like.

 
The only games where I saw the framerate go lower than 30 were the large scale RTS Coh and WIC. But Rollo was playing at a beastly res of 25x16. This card would be serious overkill for the 1440x900 I game at.

Speaking of prices, hopefully we'll see an across the boards cut on everything, including most of Nv's lineup. Any chances we'll see vanilla 260 Core 216's under 200 dollars any time soon? I think that's going to be the next step up for me.

Hehe has anyone else noticed the disturbing trend of "crysis" being substituted for "crisis" on a regular basis on any tech-related forums/websites? 🙂

Personally I would've liked to have seen overclocked benchmarking results, especially at 2560 with AA, as that seems to be where the GTX 295 is most deficient compared to the 4870X2 or GTX 280 SLI. Overclocking just memory should be a pretty easy way to increase bandwidth, although there's no easy fix for the 128MB less VRAM compared to 1GB parts.
