Its the ones who have been conditioned to believe if only they passed the right mix of laws that they can create a perfect world utopia. With 16oz sodas they think they are actually fighting obesity.

Throughout history many past civilizations have reached "heavily bureaucratic perfect world utopia" status such as:

Oh wait, many have tried but all had failed.

Libertarians are against liberty? lol wat?

Thraashman is one of the dumber posters around here. He's going to have to work hard to keep his place in that race though, the left in this forum is really upping their game trying to outdo each other on the race to the bottom.

It's cute that you think that. But pure statistics say you don't know anyone smarter than me. It's not my fault that the self identified libertarians on this forum and the ones I know in person are fear mongering idiots.

Edit: I should also add Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and every libertarian that's ever gotten themselves time on the news also prove themselves to be idiots.

Did your mother have sex with a horse too? Lots of that going on around here. Maybe you and DumbnutsSeraph are related.

Because you're showing so much intelligence and wit with your horse comment. I'm sorry for you that when you get destroyed in a discussion that you have to resort to such petty things. Maybe if you were smarter you could have a discussion with adults.

Libertarians are for their insane, extremely limited version of liberty that pretty much applies to only white males. I've interacted with far too many libertarians and they're all idiots. Look at Anarchist and Incorruptible for good examples of the libertarian norm.

You dont have the first clue about libertarian views if you think those two represent the ideology. One is a troll and the other an anarchist. And guessing by posting history those other so called libertarians are just coming down to your level.

Does show just how ignorant conservatards are.

Uh, no. Are we looking at the same pic?

I'm all for calling out ignorant right wing hacks when it's appropriate, but that cartoon depicts common sense. It is not a political talking point or example of a warped worldview, it's simple math that somehow eludes you and others.

It always makes me laugh (in a sad way though) that there really are people who think an individual that willingly ignores laws forbidding theft, assault, kidnapping, murder, rape and arson is going to willingly follow a law that restricts their ability to perform those crimes.

'Naivete' really just doesn't do this phenomenon justice.

I like that the NRA is protecting the 2nd amendment, and it's honestly the only reason we are probably able to purchase semi auto rifles en masse, but their policy of "No law is a good law" is not helpful

Maybe instead of just being a anti obama campaign machine, they should put their $$$ to use and put some good fucking clean pro-gun commercials out there, like a kid going hunting with dad or something.

There's no discussion to be had. You start with an insane hypothesis, present no evidence, and scream like a petulant child when others don't blindly accept your ignorant viewpoint. You're just another typical Democrats. Or maybe you're a Republican. I don't know, the two are basically indistinuishable these days.

But it really doesn't. It shows what a paranoid version of gun control that no one is asking for might possibly do. It's the same as people who try to argue if gay marriage becomes legal that all people will just gay marry and then society will break down.

Thats funny coming from you, you viciously attack Libertarians as idiots and other things based on a couple people

So according to your idiotic logic then are all Muslims terrorists for the actions of osama?

The explosion you heard was him attempting to think and failing miserably.

Ahh lefty liberal wingut thinking on display.

Just think about the image for a minute.

The come back to us, and tell us how banning gun X, will keep it out of the hands of criminals?

Gun bans only effect law abiding citizens.

I know most of you are potheads, just think about how stupid and worthless, the federal ban on pot is.

I'll wait while you eat you cheetos

no, not at all. in the thread the the other day, gun-owners claimed they would not be giving up their guns, pretty much trashing (from the intended perspective) that very argument--the one depicted in the cartoon.

http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2299258

The only way to make it accurately reflect such a situation is for the second panel to have both individuals maintain their weapons, but change the shirt of "law abiding citizen" to "criminal."

so, in a way--yes: "only criminals would have guns," but not in the way that gun owners think is being clever.

Standing up for a fundamental right isn't being a criminal. Or would you call black people who conducted sit-ins in whites-only restaurants during the civil rights moment "criminals"? After all, they were in violation of the law.

Fucking Rosa Parks. No better than a drug dealer that one. :p

That's why Republicons have been losing their ass consistently the last 8 years in Elections.

Well its nice to see that you guys can have a well reasoned discussion taking each sides views into account.

Really is there any point in any of you posting a pro/anti gun thread, or even any thread on gun control?

Please don't try to compare this to Civil Rights....
