What blatherers we humans are. If only we could communicate with the abbreviated accuracy of algebraic equations ...

I'm sure Ford Prefect would have a thing or two to say about this as well.

And if you try to be reasonably succinct and specific in what you say, you either come off as arrogant due to the vocabulary used, or else simply rude for being terse.

Initiate communication, exchange relevant data, terminate communication.

hmm.. the last meeting that I had started out with all the high-ups standing around laughing and joking amongst themselves.. then proceeded by handing out letters of termination to the entire staff. Bastards.
