NPD: 360 selling twice as many online-capable games as PS3

its a BR player that plays video games. when it came out it BR players were going for just as much and they didn't play games. it was expensive but it was understandable why it cost so damn much

as for online stuff, the ONLY person i know in real life that has a 360 is my brother. everyone else has a PS3. so most if not all my online stuff is purchased for the PS3

the last xbox game i got was Reach
i got BOps for the PS3
ill get battlefield for the PS3

That's the problem in the beginning, it was waaaaay too expensive and was for a while after. I didn't get my PS3 until the slim.

I have the PS3 and a PC. I always buy FPS/online games for the PC, I can't stand using a controller in a FPS. I chose the PS3 over Xbox 360 because I loved the God of War series and wanted to complete the trilogy. Other IPs such as Infamous and Uncharted were an added bonus for me.

I don't even like turning on my ps3 anymore. Feels like every time I do I have to sit through 15 minutes of updates.

Heh, I had the same experience when I turned on the 360 last week -- a forced update, and the update attempt even failed the first couple of times I tried it.

That's right, I get confused with the labels, I still have my 20GB Premium, although it's a 2nd RROD replacement of the launch model I got as a prize from Mountain Dew when they ran that launch contest.

What sucks is there are still limitations to the 4GB model, not being able to stream Netflix on it being one of them. Otherwise, yeah, it's a lot better option than the older Core and Arcade models were.

Netflix works fine on the 4gb Slim and I'm sure it would work on the 512mb Arcade too. It only requires 5mb of space.

And usb thumb drives are supported now too, so a hard drive isn't required for DLC either.

Right now you can get an Xbox Slim with a Kinect and a game for $200. That kind of deal appeals to a lot of people, where's Sony's response ?

Why do they take so long? How can xbox game and system updates take 10 seconds and PS3 game and system updates consistently take over 10 minutes?

IIRC its because the minor xbox ones can simply be patched in liek a PC but the PS3 ones require the entire OS to be reinstalled or some crap

has to do with how they are written

now why the download slower then shit i have no idea

They respond by not pushing crap like the Kinect. I haven't seen marketing for the Move in forever, but games still support it. Sony is making it an option without shoving it down my throat. Microsoft won't stop talking about the Kinect, even though there has yet to be (and never will be) a killer app for it.

Microsoft is gunning for the family market. Good for them or whatever, but if they keep focusing on it next gen they won't have my money like they did this time. Nintendo already lost it with the Wii and just made me more confident in my decision with the WiiU.

I'm a mostly single player gamer that plays games to sit back and chill. I, and many, many other gamers do not want motion control, especially when it's subpar, which is everything that exists right now.

So buy the Kinect bundle and sell the Kinect and Kinect Adventures for $50-70. Makes the Slim $130-150. btw, I actually did this a while back and sold the Kinect for $120 and got $30 trade in value for the game. I paid $225 for the bundle so my net cost was $75 for a new Slim.

Clever consumering!

Also, if you look at sales numbers, MS has sold around 55 million 360s worldwide at this point, while Sony has sold 50 million PS3s. Take into account that the PS3 came out a full year later, and year-by-year, Sony has sold as many or more consoles in the same time frame. So in that respect, I don't know that MS holding back a hard drive for a cheaper SKU did them a lot of good in the long term.

55 million / 6 years = 9.2 million consoles per year on average
50 million / 5 years = 10 million consoles per year on average

10 million a year would be impressive if the Nintendo DS didn't average like 6 million a month. =P

If you say you're mostly a single player gamer, then your opinion on which system has the better online multiplayer experience doesn't really carry any weight.

Also, nobody is forcing you to buy anything. Just because they push a product doesn't mean you have to become a fanboy and hate every other product they have.

You've been complaining about Microsoft/Xbox this whole thread, but there are reasons why they are winning the console war whether you want to believe them or not. I have both systems and my ps3 barely gets used except for blu-rays and exclusives.

It's not just this thread that he hates on Microsoft.

Had a 360 for at least two years before I ever got a PS3. Microsoft is at fault for pushing me away, and I still own my 360, AND my girlfriend got a Kinect for it. The PS3 just offers me more than the 360 can.

404 fanboy not found (since that's what you were implying)

Also, I play online, I just have more fun with the single player games like Fallout, Infamous, etc.

They're winning because they had a head start and Sony was very stupid with the way the launched the PS3. In the end all that matters is the exclusives, and the 360 is sorely lacking these days.

Most exclusives are crap anyway. The sheeple want COD:xx.

Yeah, while I'm very opinionated in what I like, I can acknowledge that Microsoft is definitely making the best business decisions, and I don't fault them for that.

I think it depends on what your taste is, when it comes to exclusives. I have never cared for the Tomb Raider type games, so while Uncharted is beautiful, I just don't get into it. Killzone does nothing special, and Resistence is boring. I love racing, and Forza is hands down better than GT.

Halo Reach (Xbox360 exclusive) sold 3.3million is first month while God of War 3 (PS3 exclusive) sold 1.1million. I'd say exclusives are better on the Xbox360.

Those are two different genres, but I am sure if you stacked either Killzone or Resistence against Halo's numbers, it would be just as bad. Halo probably outsold both of those two put together.

Not sure if serious.

Larger userbase, especially in the US, and two titles that really only appeal to the US and since when did units sold mean something is better? Do you just assume Bieber is better than any band you like? Because chances are high he's outsold most if not all of them.

You ever wonder why Kinect has outsold Move? Maybe it's the marketing :hmm:. And LOL at "shoving it down my throat". :awe:
