They're fighting a war with time and the changes it brings to them of which they seem to think threatens their very way of life that includes being racists and believers in an obsequious theocratic/plutocratic/oligarchic form of gov't that promises to keep them safe from the advancements in society that's going on all around them.

They were taught to be frightened and hateful of the future in order to keep them compliant, ignorant and gullible to the desires and needs of their thoroughly corrupted political leadership. I mean, they actually think Trump embodies all of the character traits they want in their supreme leader.

It's an futile exercise in explaining the unexplainable. Educating them is something that's far too late in coming because they are already taught that science is evil, that applying common sense to politics is evil, that self awareness is verboten and that logical reasoning is something dangerous and must be left to their leadership to deal with.
