Ok, I know of everyones feelings on this board about RDRAM. BUT, I admit, I am a spoiled rotten kid, and I have plenty of cash to blow at my will. Yes, I bought a system with RDRAM, and since I have the money, I don't see what the problem is with buying it.

No problem Beast1284, go ahead and put that suit back in the closet. If I had the money, a while ago I would have bought a PC with RDRAM too. However, now even if my budget were unlimited, I would get a DDR/Thunderbird combo.

Must be nice.

This technology will be interesting to watch. You may have bought into deadend technology. Seems like DDR ram will give the rest of us comparable or better performance at a lower price. Since there are a relatively small number of people in your position of having more dollars then sense it may be that RD Ram will never get off the ground.

For me, I have no plans of buying into either for at least a year.

I don't see why you would buy RAMBUS even if you did have the money. It helps in very little applications if in fact at all. Game performance isn't affected either. If it was 5-15% faster while still costing that much, only then would I buy it, if i didn't have a limited budget.

I could care less. If you want to waste your money on RDRAM, have fun. But be considerate and lend me some money so I can get a DDR/Tbird system 😉

I'm not gonna step in front of a moving train but I guess some people will try it just because a bunch of marketing people call it "an experience to die for."

The money blown on Rambust, no speed/performance benefits of course, could have beefed up other areas.
