Ahahahaha, that is super ghetto. I wonder what they are using to power it? I bet they put it in and then realized that it won't run on DC....

The cost of buying the window unit + the power inverter strong enough to run it + the cost of replacing the alternator every 4 months > getting original AC fixed.

At 15 amps AC that thing is drawing well over 170 amps DC with heat/power conversion losses.

Maybe someone sleeps in the van and they plug the AC in via extension cord during the day?

My guess would be conversion van that also serves as a camper. I see rigs like that fairly often in campgrounds.

Like stated before, it's fairly common on vans used for road trips and camping. the unit can be plugged in at a camp ground site. Much more effecient than running the vans a/c all night long.

Does it just sit there? Take the rear seats out, put the PC in, get long Power and Network cables, and your set. A nice place away from the wife.
