Now this is ghetto

Ahahahaha, that is super ghetto. I wonder what they are using to power it? I bet they put it in and then realized that it won't run on DC....

The cost of buying the window unit + the power inverter strong enough to run it + the cost of replacing the alternator every 4 months > getting original AC fixed.

At 15 amps AC that thing is drawing well over 170 amps DC with heat/power conversion losses.

Maybe someone sleeps in the van and they plug the AC in via extension cord during the day?

🙂

Like stated before, it's fairly common on vans used for road trips and camping. the unit can be plugged in at a camp ground site. Much more effecient than running the vans a/c all night long.

Does it just sit there? Take the rear seats out, put the PC in, get long Power and Network cables, and your set. A nice place away from the wife.
