whew! at least everytime this happens, i haven't been using it on a consistent basis, just their free sample bottles as part of my travel kit. now to toss another bottle out.

at least i've switched to alcon opti-free for daily wear.

lol, I love how the article tells you to replace everything, the solution, the case, the lenses, why not just your eyes, that should just about fix everything.

I just found out about this, because I ran out of solution and needed to get a new bottle and couldn't find it anywhere.
What solution is a good replacement for this one?

I like reading stuff like this, since my left eye has been sore for the past few days.

try the clearcare peroxide solution. most people who try it like it better.

Something about putting peroxide in my eye that turns me off...
Especially since i had a peroxide chemical burn on my face when I was a kid.

I am going to try the RepleniSH. What should I do with the almost empty and expired bottle of Complete Moisture Plus? Can I get a free bottle of the other Complete product they have out of it?

I got off the contact bandwagon back in the late 80s. Still don't care for them, I am awake a long time and contacts just suck.

The peroxide is chemically neutralized during the process. That's why you have to use it in the specially provided storage container (which needs to be replaced every few months) and give it a few hours to work.
It's good stuff. I've used that and Optifree pretty much forever.

Ditto. Plus SoftWear saline for rinsing lenses and eyes. I regret ever switching from good ol' peroxide to those nasty all-in-one formulas for the suppos-ed convenience. Increased irritation, discomfort and risk of infection are not convenient. So, I gladly accept the 6 hour cleaning time.

Using Opti-free Express cause that's what my doctor initially gave me. Not sure what to think right now cause my eyes occasionally get bloodshot after wearing them for more than 5 hours. Might be lack of sleep or dry eye.

What is scary is the following:
Acanthamoeba is a microorganism commonly found in water, soil, sewage systems, cooling towers, and heating/ventilation/air conditioning (HVAC) systems. Acanthamoeba keratitis (AK) is a rare, but serious, infection of the cornea. AK is usually found among individuals who improperly store/handle/disinfect their lenses (e.g., use tap water or homemade solutions for cleaning), swim/use hot tubs/shower while wearing lenses, come in contact with contaminated water, have minor damage to their corneas, or have previous corneal trauma. The incidence of AK in the United States has been estimated by CDC at approximately one to two cases per million contact lens users.

Let's see, I swim/shower with my contacts in, and have had previous corneal trauma (ripped my cornea out about 3 or 4 years ago). Now I need to find another brand solution. I have 2 new bottles of this at home, and I made sure they were the ones manufactured in Spain since they had a recall a couple months ago for the same stuff manufactured in China.

Damn, so many things from China being recalled.

I actually feel it's a good thing because a lot of Chinese-made stuff (especially their products intended for domestic consumption) is utter crap and cuts way too many corners. There needs to be worldwide outcry over Chinese products in order to force quality and environmental concerns to the forefront there.

My concern is I have these lenses that are 30 wear ones, but I only wear them maybe once or twice a week, so they last me maybe 6months.
If I use a peroxide solution, will the lenses themselves dissolve and become unusable before 6 months? :D
