Recent talk of beer guzzling led me to drag one of each beers that I have in my wannabe cellar. Represented are the following:

- Ommegant Witte, Three Philosophers, and Abbey Ale. Three Philosophers is incredible; it's blended with Lindeman's Kriek Lambic.
- Rochefort 10. Simply an incredible beer.
- St. Bernardus Tripel, Prior 8, and Abt 12. Anyone who knows beers needs no description of these fantastic beers.
- Allagash Tripel and Curieux. Allagash makes absolutely fantastic Belgian-style beers, and it's a US brewery.
- Westmalle Triple. I have A LOT of thesee, and it's likely my favorite of all time.
- Duvel. No description needed.
- Schneider Aventinus. It's almost obscence how good this Weizen is. I have a few cellared since '99.

I'm in Cleveland right now, so this is all I have with me. Back at home I have more waiting for the right time, but these alone will keep anyone busy for years with their complexity.

Any thoughts?

My bro is a Budweiser-only man, and I was proud to see him at least branch out to Select :D

St. Pauli's Girl is ok, but there are better representatives of the lager style. I enjoy a lager now and then, but I like my beers to be a little... wild. I love lambic-style ales, but unfortunately the style is somewhat under threat of extinction.

I'm only familiar with the western Canadian micro breweries, but those bottles look very cool :)

well, here lies the BIGGEST problem with good beer:

you can't get them convienently

see, I know I can go down to that one and only one store that sell that one and only one beer I utterly love. but then again, usually for convienent sake I just pick up a 6 pack of Guiness while I am doing my grocery run.

I tried the Ommegan, it came in a huge 1.25 or 1.5L bottle. GOOD sh1t.
Duvel was okay to me, not enough 'flavor' imo.

Hell yes. It's likely the best Trappist, but unfortunately it's very difficult to find. So long as I can get my Westmalle I'm good....

Yes I'm at the monks' website and can't get any info on distribution (seems as though they only sell it at the monestary). Damnit I'm flying over there

unfortunately i don't have as broad a selection as you. my mainstay is Bud Light, though on occassion i'll buy Red Stripe, something from Deschutes Brewery (usually their Black Butte Porter), or Guinness Draught.

this local brewery makes some awesome beers, a few of their brews are perennial award winners.

Very true. Not only is it very hard to find, it's very hard to find anyone who has any knowledge of them at all. You have to find a really high quality shop to get it locally, and not every city has one.

I was able to get most of them while in Belgium last year, and that's of course the easiest way to get your hands on some Westvletern; otherwise it seems like almost pure luck or a long wait. Most of the breweries will ship for you, and you can buy cases :)

You should :) Most of the monasteries have shops next to them where you can buy their brews, chocolates, cheese, etc. It's also just a great experience overall.

I may have missed it in the replies, but where did you get those beers?

Oh, and did I mention that I hate you?

It depends. I got a lot of beer/wine shipped home from Europe while I was there, but otherwise I just call some of the local guys and work with them to get a case or more. Some of the better shops will actually have many of the better Belgians, but it's not always easy to find. Your average liquor store simply won't do.

Thanks :D

I forgot to include some other beers that I have in the list: Chimay Blue and Red cap, Delerium Tremens, and some Lindeman's Kriek. I have an obvious affinity for Belgian strong ales, and I can't get enough of them.
