He just thought I'd start a thread for people who have low-spec systems that absolutely haul!

p166 mmx, 32mb RAM
1.6g HD

Runs win2000 competantly
Runs diablo2, not enough hd space for expansion *lol*

Used to play on bnet from Australia with a 28.8k modem and could manage to get to Act 2 before it was unplayable... about 2fps!!!

Anyway, I love my 166... thankfully now I have a better pc...

I still run with:
700Mhz PIII
Asus P3B (ATA/33!!)
20GB Quantum BigFoot
64MB AsusTek GeForce3 V8200 (good video, i believe, is the secret to success with a low-end machine)
448MB SDRAM
SBL! Value
...NEC Firewire Card.....other..stuff..SCSI Controller for external CD-RW Drive
250W Evercase PSU

Good software maintenance and cooling

MARATHON RUNNER. Not as old as kylerhsm's P166 (I had one of those too). 4-times the speed of a 166mhz machine (~700Mhz) makes much more of a difference than 4-times the speed of a 700Mhz Machine (~2.4Ghz) IMHO. You'd have to see it to believe, I guess. I built this machine to play Starcraft, and it has stayed with me through CS and WCIII. Half-Life 2 and Doom will be the end of it though. Anyone else have anything similar?

Here is mine:

Pentium 3 700MHz
ASUS CUBXL Mobo
256MB of PC100 SDRAM
40GB Fujitsu HD
32MB Geforce 2mx
windows XP Pro
