Well, I formatted and installed win2k sp3. then i installed all that other stuff.

Whenever I scan with my Umax Astra 3450, I get pink! :Q That's never happened before.

And in MS publisher 2000, my work area is pink as well!

Both of these pinks should be white...dunno what's wrong...

any ideas?

haven't even gotten around to installing kazaa or anything.

just the basic stuff...win2k sp3, office with service packs, winzip, drivers, drivers and more drivers...that's about it...

when i formatted...out went all those mpegs :(

Sounds like a weird overlay problem... DVD decoder cards will do this if you don't install the passthrough cable. Though I don't see why Publisher would do it.

bumping this because if i can't figure this out i'm going to format again and go back to winxp tonight.

damn, 2k is so much more stable too :(

According to their website, you should try to power-cycle the scanner (check #2)

well, i dunno what happened, but all of a sudden the thing decided to scan decently and not in pink.
