Now that I'm bit older... Going with "gut feeling" is eerily mostly right.

I mean, can't argue with that statement. That's why it's gut feeling - subconsciously developed from your experience.. it's an aggregate decision making blackbox with trillions of data points from years of experience.

Now that I'm older, going with gut feeling in the situations that you have VERY little information of - it's the best way to listen to that.

It's almost like clairvoyance.

Intellectual decision vs gut feeling. Sometimes when the gut feeling does not agree with the intellectual decision, it's best not to follow it.

I was about to do something. Intellectually, my actions are correct. But I had a gut feeling not to do it. I think it's best to do it.

Personal examples?

I'd bet that most older people would say they chose _not_ to do something based on "gut feeling". They didn't do something or didn't buy something, then they feel it was the correct decision. They get more conservative, more cautious as they get older.

But how many things have you decided to _do_ based on your gut feeling where you're certain it was better than an alternative choice?

It's called mfing Experience! As you get older and you realize how much common sense this world lacks, you can pretty much predict outcomes.
