I really dislike how big and slow wmp9 is. Can I uninstall it? Or is there still some purpose for it that I'm not noticing? Anyhere uninstall it yet?

XP: Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components. Don't know if that will remove all of its nastiness. If not, I'm sure some enterprising person put out a program to remove MS extras completely.

That just removes it from the start menu IIRC

I use WMP9 with the classic skin and I dont mind it one bit actually

IMO, I'd leave it installed. Zoomplayer is the best video player, but WMP9 keeps certain codecs up to date and installed and can be useful for automatically grabbing new codecs if something won't play. This is for codecs outside of xvid/divx/etc..

I'm not sure whether you will ever need to use it to grab more codecs, but I think you'll cause more problems trying to get rid of it.
