Now that I have the terminal open in in Ubuntu how do I install truecrack?

it keeps telling me no such file or directory when the directory is on the usb stick I use to boot from when I use cd truecrack.

You're booting off a n Ubuntu USB stick so a lot of software needed for what you want to do is not there. You're likely compiling trucrack from source so you're missing gcc, make, g++, etc. You should try using Kali instead as suggested in the other thread.

I installed the full desktop installation 996MBs.
I also downloaded cuda_6.5.19_linux_64.run which was 937MBs and am installing it now even though it is taking seemingly forever(is it downloading more stuff?).
My stick is USB 3.0 64GB rated @ 245MBps read 190MBps write so I figured there should be a problem with installing to it.
The computer is the family HTPC so it normally runs Windows 8.1.

Kali only does Truecrack 3.0 the current version of Truecrack is 3.5 and can handle full disk encryption whereas 3.0 only does file containers so I've been told.
