Now that I have an LCD, a few questions.

First of all, wow, I must say this 2001FP from Dell is amazing and so far worth every penny.
Anyway, a few questions:

* How should I clean it? I used Windex on my old CRT since it was glass and all, but I don't know if that's suited for LCDs.

* Touching them and makin it look wavy is not good for it, correct?

* Should I use Clear Type, and does it stress the computer to have it enabled?

* Anything else I should know?

Just use water. How are you treating your monitor that you need anything more than that?

Naw, shouldn't matter. If that was true PDAs wouldn't exist.

Absolutely. And it won't affect performance. And if you're going to enable it, do it through the Microsoft website rather than through XP... you'll need to use IE though http://www.microsoft.com/typog.../cleartype/tuner/1.htm

Exactly. I wasn't asking for myself. My friends can't seem to understand that they can point to something without having to touch the screen.

And what's the difference between setting up ClearType through the website and through XP?

Website allows you to customize the cleartype to your type of display. I have a Dell 1800FP that uses almost completely opposite Cleartype settings than my Dell E193FP.
