Are there any other that don't require too much grinding to stay in the race? Im just looking for some casual play. My brother play WoW, he seems to live on the computer, not my plan. I tried City of heroes for about half hour, i found it interesting. Should i wait for Huxley?

Thanks.

Guild Wars but ideally if you want to play games that are good and don't suck your time away you would stay away from mmorpgs all together. You may want to try something with similar gameplay like titan quest.

I like Guild Wars.

PS: You need to change your title...your computer is currently in "descent" (as if like...falling from the heavens) instead of the implied "decent" (meaning good).

LOTR online just came out a couple of days ago. You'll be able to play with lots of people regardless of level, since it is new.

Might I suggest single player RPGs? Most online roleplaying games require time if you wish to "keep up" with everyone.

I'll second the vote for LOTR>.. it has a good story line, and it definately allows you to get good gameplay in with limited time. Of course in any MMO if you dedicate 20 hours a day to it you're going to get to the end faster... but I play LOTR very casually and don't feel the need to dedicate more time than I do to progress.

is it just me or does a MMORPG seem like a waste for a good computer? Looking at all the most popular ones, they are not up to par graphics wise. I guess if your computer is just OK, and nothing great then sure.

It is not really an RPG, but the latest MMO game is called:

Stablize Vista

Discription:
Join millions of others in the quest to stablize your Vista system while completing a near infinite number of mini-quests searching for non-existant hardware drivers, dealing with invalid retail serial numbers bought directly from Microsoft, and chasing an ever increasing number bug beast many which are invulnerable.

That game has bad reviews, but replay value is very high.

WoW is designed to run on older systems to attract the maximum number of customers who otherwise might not be able to play. Other MMORPGs look far better. Not as good as the best FPS games and such, because you'll never have 300 people on your screen in an FPS, each wearing different armors with different textures... but much better than WoW. It's not a waste.

Try LOTRO. There is very little grinding as most XP is built from questing. As stated above it is new, so there will be a lot of

The graphics are also amazing IMO to take advantage of your new PC.

If you had a way to download the client I would give you a 10 day key to try it out, but I do not think the client is downloadable at the moment.

PM me if you want more info.

Cheers,
KT

I beat that game three times now. It's way too easy.

You never played a new MMORPG if you think graphics don't use newer hardware. lol

Eve online battles can kill 8800GTX cards sometimes with all the fancy graphics up. most people have to turn them down.

lord of the rings online. you get ****** for xp from the grind. most of the xp comes from other means (quests/exploring new areas/crafting).
you basically quest at your own pace. (although there's still a fair amount of fedex and hack and slash type quests...)

WoW is definatly the most enrty-level freindly game. Thge knock on the grafics isnt as much about it being 'made for older comps' as it is the game came out a couple years ago.

The machne I build for my brother is a vista set up, and I have to conclude the people looking for 'non-existant hardware drivers' decided to build a new machine with old parts. Tisk tisk.

Just get a WoW trial account and give it a whirl. Trust me, you do not have to invest hours and hours of time. I play about an hour or so a night (if I play at all) and some on the weekends. I have a level 70 and a level 67 so it's not like you can't get to max level in this game with a small time commit.

I'm in a 'casual' raiding guild so if you have any kind of interest shoot me a PM.
